Terms of Use
Artile · Last updated June 11, 2026
By downloading or using Artile, you agree to these terms. They're short, because the app is simple.
The app
Artile is a puzzle game about historical paintings, for your personal enjoyment. We work to keep it running smoothly and its art history accurate, but we can't promise either is perfect: the descriptions are an evolving record, and if you spot a mistake we'd genuinely like to hear about it.
The art
The paintings in Artile are historical works in the public domain. The images come from museum open-access programs and Wikimedia Commons; each painting's detail page credits its source. Everything else (the app, its design, and our written descriptions) belongs to Artile and may not be copied, redistributed, or resold.
Fair use
Use Artile as it's meant to be used. Don't reverse-engineer it, repackage its content, or do anything unlawful with it.
Purchases
If the app offers purchases, Apple processes them under your Apple Account terms. Purchases unlock content inside the app and can be restored on any device signed into the same Apple Account.
Your data
How we handle data is covered in our Privacy Policy; the short version is that your personal data stays on your device.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms over time; continuing to use Artile after an update means you accept the revised terms. We may also discontinue features or the app itself.
